Give a discount
Record a discount as a discount instead of typing a lower amount. The app keeps the full price, what you took off and why. Later you can see how much you gave away, and which offers bring people in.
Steps
When renewing (Payments → Record Payment → Renew Membership), or adding a member with Payment at Admission:
Choose the plan as usual.
In Discount, type the amount off. Tap % first if you want a percentage instead. The line under it shows the new price, e.g. ₹1,000 − ₹200 = ₹800.
Add a Reason if you like. Pick one of the suggestions (Offer, Referral, Student…) or type your own, like New Year offer.
Amount paid now fills in with the price after the discount. Lower it if they are paying only part now; the rest is kept as dues.
Tap Renew & Record (or Save Member).
On Add Member, the discount comes off the whole total: plan fee plus admission fee.
Good to know
Seeing what you gave away: the dashboard's Discounts Given card shows this month's total and how many payments had one. Tap it to see those payments.
On Payments, a discounted payment shows ₹… off · reason under its amount. Tap the Discounts chip to list only those. The footer adds them up, and Export includes the discount and reason columns.
Revenue counts only money received. A ₹1,000 plan sold at ₹800 adds ₹800 to revenue.
You can ask the assistant too: "How much discount did we give this month?"
A payment with a discount keeps its amount. If something was entered wrong, delete the payment and record it again.
When it doesn't work
"The discount cannot be more than the price." Lower the discount. For a free month, use 100%.
"Enter a percentage between 1 and 100." You are on % and typed more than 100. Tap ₹ if you meant rupees.
The amount box on Edit Payment is greyed out. That payment has a discount or changed dues. Delete it and record it again with the right numbers.
There is no Discount box on Other Payment. Discounts are for plan fees: use Renew Membership or Payment at Admission.
