Check in with the QR code
Record that you came to the gym today, and record when you left.
Before you start
Your gym has to be displaying its check-in QR code — on a screen or a printed card near the entrance. If there is no QR anywhere, the desk can mark you present by hand instead.
Steps
Open the app and tap Scan QR at the bottom.
Allow the camera if your phone asks. You see Scan QR to Check In with a camera box.
Point it at the QR code at your gym. It reads on its own — there is no button to press.
Checked in! appears. Tap View Attendance to see today marked, or just put your phone away.
When you leave, scan the same QR again. It says Already checked in — tap Yes, Check Out Now and your visit length is recorded.
Good to know
You can also just point your phone's own camera at the QR. It opens the check-in page in your browser. If you are not signed in it asks you to sign in first, then finishes the check-in. Either route does the same thing.
You can only check in once per day. Scanning again on the same day never creates a second visit — it offers to check you out instead.
You do not have to check out. If you forget, the app closes your visit for you after your gym's usual session length (2 hours unless your gym has changed it). That visit then shows the standard length rather than your real one.
You can also check out without scanning: on Home or on Attendance, an open visit shows a Check Out button.
The QR on the wall changes every minute. That is on purpose, so a photo of it cannot be reused later. It does not affect you if you scan it live.
The My QR button on your home screen shows a code with your name on it. It is there for staff to identify you at the desk; it is not how you check yourself in. Use the gym's QR for that.
When it doesn't work
"Check-in failed. The QR code may have expired." Almost always a photo or a screenshot of the QR rather than the live one, or a screen that has frozen. Scan the code on the wall again, live. Tap Try Again and re-point the camera.
"Your membership is frozen. Ask the gym to unfreeze it." Your gym has paused your membership, and a paused membership cannot check in. Ask the desk to unfreeze it.
"Camera unavailable." Your browser is blocking the camera. Allow camera access for the site in your browser settings and open the tab again. On iPhone, Safari must be the browser you are using — some in-app browsers cannot open the camera at all.
You scanned another gym's QR. It will not work. You can only check in to the gym you are currently signed in to. If you belong to two gyms, switch first — see Use more than one gym.
You checked in early in the morning and it landed on yesterday. Visits before about 5:30 AM are recorded against the previous day. If you train at 5 AM, expect your attendance to sit one square to the left on the calendar. Your gym sees the same thing, so nothing is missing — it is just dated a day back.
Check Out says "Not checked in today." There is no open visit to close — either you never checked in, or the app already closed it for you automatically.
